WARGASM: BACK IN THE DOG HOUSE
If you’ve been following us for a lil while, you’ll know that back in February we had up-and-coming punk icons Wargasm over at HQ to be part of the Carve...
READ THE STORYYour chance to win a Mutt Mushman 125 and provide help and support to a long-time Mutt family member and collaborator.
Some of you may know our dear friend and long-time Mutt family collaborator, Christian 'Burty' Burton. Chris has worked with Mutt since the beginning and is responsible for many of Mutt's most popular early graphics that we still use today. Recently Chris has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, an extremely difficult illness with a relatively unknown prognosis. As a hugely creative individual - musician, artist & designer - Burt's increasing mobility issues have made it impossible for him to work or participate in the creative endeavours he loves and that support him and his family.
We're calling on our wider community to come together and support Chris during this challenging time. As a self-employed creative, the financial support he will receive is limited, so we need your help to raise funds for technology that will improve his quality of life, such as eye gaze tech for communication and creation, a mobility vehicle to help him get out and about.
To raise funds, we're raffling off a brand-new Mutt 125cc Mushman. Don't have a licence? No worries - we'll throw a CBT test at Mutt HQ into the deal. And if you've got a full licence, ask nicely, and we may even upgrade to a 250cc. Every penny raised from the tickets sold will go directly to Burt's fund along with local MND charities to support others facing similar challenges. You can enter the raffle for just £1.99 at Ignite Comps.
(Note that competition entry is UK only)
If you'd like to see the Mutt Mushman 125cc in the flesh, you can head on down to a benefit all-dayer being held by the bands supported by Burt's D.I.Y. music group over the years. The event takes place on June 29th at the Marrs Bar in Worcester. The bike will be on show, and along with the great bands there will be other items to be won and purchased to provide additional fund support.
If you're not interested in winning a motorcycle, but still want to support Chris, you can donate directly to his GoFundMe campaign.
As long time motorcycle community members, we know the power of coming together to support one of our own. For Burt and his family, this is a difficult time, and we want to mobilise the the strength and generosity of the motorcycle family to make a real difference in Burt's life, and the lives of others facing the challenges of Motor Neurone Disease. Any donation or support given, no matter how small or large, will go a long way.
