Another year and another Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, an event to raise money on behalf of the Movember Foundation. This year, millions of dollars were raised globally for the foundation go to supporting programs researching men’s mental health and prostate cancer research.
Over 400 Riders assembled at Streetbike, Triumph Birmingham West in Halesowen for a cuppa and a chance to see rare vintage motorcycles to one of a kind customs and classics. It wasn’t only the motorcycles on display though, we had some amazing attire on display as well, with gentleman in top hats and three piece suits and ladies doing their part to show the men how to wear a suit! With so many motorcycles and fancy dress it was quite a site!
Then it came time to fire up the engines. Ceremony and excitement sent a song of growling, hissing and popping all across Birmingham as the riders took off, heading for the Custard Factory in Digbeth. It was sight to see so many uniquely dressed bikes and riders in one group. And with ride host Will Rigg and the aid of our volunteer stewards doing a fantastic job herding so many motorcycles across the city, everyone made it safely to the Custard Factory, and then over to Mutt Motorcycle HQ for the after party.
Bonehead was on hand at Mutt HQ to cook up delicious chicken wings and the cafe grilling up burgers and serving beers, coffee and tea. Our local legend Jim Le Grin was spinning the tunes. The afternoon was spent talking about the ride, admiring the bikes in the Mutt HQ showroom. So far, we’ve raised over 17k locally for the DGR in support of the Movember Foundation, a nonprofit raising money for men’s mental health and cancer research.
Ethan Jones and the Stray Club were at Mutt HQ in force with the now legendary Tattoo Roulette - big thanks to the guys who donated all their proceeds to the DGR, raising another £560 for the cause. Big up Guys!
We want to give a huge thanks to Streetbike Triumph Birmingham West for arranging the start of the ride, to Will Rigg for hosting the ride, to Custard Factory and P&Co. for local sponsorship, and to all of the volunteer stewards who made this all possible.
Local: 421 Riders - $17780 raised
Global: 114,373 riders - $6,067,725 raised
