Junior Workshop Assistant

As the Mutt family continues to grow globally, we are looking for a Junior Workshop Assistant to provide assistance to our workshop team in preparation, building and maintenance of motorcycles.

SUMMARY

As the Junior Workshop Assistant at Mutt Motorcycles, you will be working in our workshop assisting in the building of our bikes and undertaking maintenance work where required along with general workshop jobs as needed. As this is a junior role, we will offer required on the job training, working closely with our experienced technicians. This is an opportunity to work within a growing, innovative company with potential for personal growth and progress.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Junior Workshop Assistant key responsibilities are:

  • Assisting with building and maintenance of motorcycles to required specification
  • Assisting in moving/loading motorcycles for inbound and outbound deliveries
  • Unpacking motorcycle components prior to building
  • Assisting the workshop team with service and maintenance work, and any other work as needed
  • Ensuring that the workshop and other work areas are kept tidy and safe.

KEY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

As Junior Workshop Assistant, you will need:

  • A basic knowledge of and enthusiastic interest in motorcycles, motorcycle mechanics and maintenance
  • To be familiar with common hand tools, and be proficient with spanners, sockets, impact drivers, allen keys etc.
  • A degree of manual dexterity, as the role involves extensive use of hand tools and includes jobs which have a manual element such as removing and fitting tyres
  • To be able to work professionally, and above all to be enthusiastic, pro-active and motivated to get stuck in and learn as part of a close-knit team.

GENERAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

As Junior Workshop Assistant, you will need these general skills:

  • Punctuality
  • Responsibility
  • An ability to work well with others.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educated to A-level or equivalent, with some industry experience and a keen interest in motorcycle mechanics desirable
